In keeping with Chinese tradition, the New Year is when Chinese people around the world pay homage to the gods, offer their respect to the heavens, their prayers to the ancestors and extend blessings to relatives and friends. New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) hopes to bring joy and happiness to each member of our audience worldwide. We have invited world-class artists from across the globe to extend our New Year's greetings through the rich and colorful Chinese New Year Global Gala. Through our global satellite and cable television networks, NTDTV will broadcast the best performances selected from the 16 galas that will be held in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The history of each country in the world is told through its legendary stories. China is the only country in the world with 5,000 years of undisturbed history and NTDTV has been endowed with the grand mission to promote traditional Chinese culture. This is why the theme "Myths and Legends"was chosen as the theme of the New Year's gala. NTDTV has inherited the mantle of the great Tang Dynasty at its height and appreciates and incorporates all of the traditional arts. At the New Year's gala, audiences will have opportunity to enjoy Eastern and Western symphonic music, vocal music, and dance.
NTDTV would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the governments and people around the world for their hospitality and support of overseas Chinese and Chinese communities. We also would like to commend overseas Chinese for their contributions to the peace and freedom of mankind. We pray for a better and more harmonious tomorrow from the bottom of our hearts.
NTDTV is the first independent, global, non-profit Chinese language TV network in the world. It is devoted to providing Chinese around the world with objective and accurate information, enriching the knowledge and life of the Chinese, helping them blend into the international mainstream, promoting mutual understanding and bridging Eastern and Western cultures. NTDTV has voluntarily served Chinese and Chinese communities with a belief in the universal values of human rights and the magnificent traditional Chinese culture. During its four short years, NTDTV has won approval from the Chinese community, especially the Chinese in Mainland China, as the media organization that is upholding morality and justice.
NTDTV programs are broadcast through unlocked satellite channels covering North America, Asia, Europe and Australia and also through cable TV networks in many metropolitan cities across the world. NTDTV has been unrelenting in its efforts to promote a free society and peaceful social transformation in Mainland China. In 2005, NTDTV reached a long-term agreement with a European satellite corporation, thus providing a reliable avenue for the free flow of information and an interactive platform for viewers in Mainland China. NTDTV has about 200 million viewers. There are more than 50 affiliated stations worldwide with many volunteers who contribute to NTDTV.
