New York City is famous for its commerce and culture, particularly its world-renowned Broadway theater district, which covers about 30 blocks starting at 42nd Street. Known as "the great white way," Broadway has more than 100 years of history. When night falls, the theater district is brilliantly illuminated. Looking at Manhattan from above, the area resembles an imperial crown, radiant and majestic.

The famed Radio City Music Hall is the brightest pearl on top of the imperial crown. Radio City is a multi-use performance venue, with 6,000 seats; it opened to the public on December 27, 1932. At that time, Radio City Music Hall was the biggest indoor theater in the world. Movies that premiered there were almost guaranteed to be successful.

Designed to be a showplace for America, Radio City Music Hall is 84-feet high and 160-feet deep. The walls and ceiling have sweeping curved arches and its golden theater screen curtain is the largest in the world.

Having staged two Chinese New Year Galas over the past two years, New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) announced its 2006 Gala will be presented on Radio City Music Hall’s main stage January 20 and 21.

"The 2006 Chinese New Year Global Gala will be a masterpiece of east and west cultural collaboration," according to NTDTV president Li Zong. "We will represent Chinese history, legend and culture at one of the most famous theaters in the west - Radio City Music Hall. With special sound and light effects, the audience will feel as if they are part of the scene."
